On The Right Path To Success
Berkshire Camino, founded by Mindy Miraglia, leads local guided walking tours and multi-day hiking journeys across the Berkshires, inspired by the long-distance pilgrim walk Camino de Santiago in Spain. The idea for the business came after doing the Camino herself twice. Every time she would share her adventure with friends and family, people would tell her that it would be great to have something similar in the Berkshires.
She participated in the first Berkshire County Pitch Contest where she learned more about the Winter 2020 Accelerator Program and decided it would be perfect for helping her launch her business. “It really deepened my understanding of the marketing approach and my customer. I’ve also built a great team with my mentors. Having that outside perspective was instrumental!”
After the Accelerator, she worked on building the business’s infrastructure, and despite COVID-19, she was able to do more than 20 walking tours in 2020. For 2021 she’s expanding to offer more than 70 tours, including new historical walks and multi-day journeys. She’s also hiring five group leaders, ten support guides, and a part-time bookkeeper. “It’s going to be a turnkey experience!” she said.
